Entry from: Mesaieed, Qatar Entry Title: "A day at the beach" Entry: "We managed to make it to breakfast in time this morning, which consisted of an assortment of pastries and some tea. Then we walked down to the bus station which is not very far from our hotel. I got a lot of looks at the station. The bus station was mostly Indian men, and I was the only woman. The bus itself was quite nice; it was very new and air conditioned. We didn't have to wait for more than a minute before it pulled up. About 10 minutes into our ride I was freezing. The air conditioner was working a little too well. On our journey to the Sealine Beach Resort we passed through a lot of desert. It was really weird when we approached a town because we would be surrounded by sand and then in the middle of the town roundabout was a patch of lush green grass and bright flowers. Also near the towns the highway is lined with palm trees. I liked the view of the empty desert though. The land is so flat and it stretches out right to the horizon. We finally arrived in Mesaieed where we were hoping to get a taxi to the resort. I had read in my Lonely Planet that we would need a car but it was written before the transit system was in place, so I am unsure if any of the information in it is reliable.
